Marshall’s Pasta Catering is a family-owned catering business that serves homemade Italian food throughout London and surrounding area. It is operated and owned by Blake and Jodie Marshall and their 4 daughters.
After injuries from an Edmonton football career caused him to retire, Blake and his wife Jodie studied “the business of pasta”. A love of Italian food and cooking inspired Blake to open Marshall’s Pasta and Bakery, their restaurant and retail store. They now serve more than just pasta and sauce – their catering menu boasts beef tenderloin, baked chicken dinner, and lobster tail dinner. London was chosen as the store’s location because Blake is a Western alumnus who fell in love with the city and people.
With offerings such as fresh pasta, sauces, Portuguese breads, prepared meals, lasagna, soups, and secret-recipe meatballs from Blake’s brother, Greg, the restaurant and store soon expanded into catering as well. Marshall’s Pasta Catering has catered for large and small groups, ranging from the Western Mustangs, where Greg serves as head coach, to intern doctors. The Marshalls started preparing meals for hot lunch programs at elementary schools and now provide a dozen schools with fresh, hot pasta lunches. On the wholesale side, the business also delivers breads and fresh pasta to local restaurants.
Marshall’s Pasta Catering is family-owned and family-centered. In the summer, you will find Blake barbecuing his homemade lean sausages at various outdoor events. Even after all their business success, for Jodie, serving good food to customers is still the real motivation for their business. She recalls how one customer moved her to tears by saying, "Buying food from Marshall's makes me feel like a good mom.”

London's Blake & Jodie Marshall enjoy an extra helping of success after joining their pasta business with a popular bakery
By Hank Daniszewski
Nothing goes better with a plate of fresh pasta than a fresh, crusty Portuguese roll.
That was part of the simple logic that prompted Blake and Jodie Marshall to combine their pasta business with Lusitana Martins Bakery. Last year, the Marshalls purchased the 40-year old bakery business when owner Fernando Martins retired.
Marshall said this was everything we were looking for," a former Western Mustangs and Edmonton Eskimos football star. Moving to the new store has a central location, good parking and street access. Both Marshall's and the Lusitana Bakery had built up a loyal clientele over the years and "we still make the same bread the same way," said Jodie.
Blake made sure of that by spending more than a month training with Fernando to learn all his bread-making techniques.
“We have grown the business quickly, due to a growing demand among busy families for high-quality, easy-to-prepare meals.”
